About the Event
This day of prayer, worship, and sessions on home education is designed to support parents in their vocation to be “those first responsible for the education of their children” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2223). Our Practicum aims to equip parents to homeschool and to cultivate their home as a school of virtue for the whole family. The sessions will primarily focus on those entering new stages of home education, but content will be applicable to all ages and stages of the homeschool journey. Additionally, the Practicum will be focused on the integration of home education with Saint Thomas More Academy’s aims and courses, honoring the Catholic Parish as the “privileged place for catechesis of children and parents” (CCC 2226). However, all home educating families will find sessions designed to prepare them for the year ahead.
There is a $20 registration fee that covers your Practicum Packet and a boxed lunch. A nursery will also be available for nursing babies. After registering, we'll email you to choose a lunch option and to sign up nursing babies for nursery care.
